FUNDRAISING FAQ:
Do I have to fundraise?
Whether you are walking, running, or rolling the 1K or 5K, we encourage everyone to take part in fundraising! It is SO much easier than you think and you will love feeling the support of your family & friends. Plus, fundraising for the Friendship Circle will bring meaning to every moment of your participation <3
Upon registering, you will automatically have a personal fundraising page that you can share with friends and family, sharing the message of inclusion with them and giving them the opportunity to support you and the cause.
Please note: Each participant of the family still needs to be registered as an INDIVIDUAL participant (so that we get all of his/her jersey information, etc.).
How do I fundraise?
The possibilities are endless! Here are a few ideas:
- Personal Phone Call: By far, the most effective way to fundraise is by reaching out to family and friends by phone! Give them the option for you to input the donation for them.
- Personal Message: Whether you Whatsapp your friends and family, or e-mail your former co-workers, a personal message will go a long way!
- Social Media: Post away! Give a shout-out whenever you get a new donation, share updates about your training and progress. All of this will encourage your Social Media Spectators to join you!
- Bake Sale/ Lemonade Stand: Host a bake sale or lemonade stand for the community. This will bring in donations AND awareness for the cause you love! Whichever idea you choose, remember to include a personal message about what Friendship Circle means to you!
- Pro tip! Studies show that people need to see a reminder 7 times before they act! Don’t be shy to keep sharing your fundraising URL and progress with family and friends.
How does it work with Team Fundraising?
Great Question! Whether you are joining the 1K/ 5K options, you can be a part of a team (or create a team!) if you choose. You will still have your own personal fundraising page, however the funds you raise will be included on your team's page and progress.
